About Us! Dawn B. Carlson, B.A., Specific Learning Disabilities, is the Director of the clinic. Ms. Carlson is a former teacher in the Hillsborough County public school system and has been working with children with special needs for over 20 years. In addition to her training in the Lindamood-Bell® programs, Ms. Carlson has extensive experience teaching Orton-Gillingham based programs. Ms. Carlson is also the co-founder of the Reading Disability and Dyslexia Awareness Group (RDDAG), a 501c3 Florida not-for-profit Corporation that has a mission to increase the awareness and early identification of Learning Disabilities and Dyslexia. Please visit the web site dyslexiahurts.org for more information. Barbara Sheridan, B.A., Speech/Language Pathology, is a specialist in treating children with reading disabilities and dyslexia. Ms. Sheridan has been treating children with learning problems for over 10 years and has extensive training in the Lindamood-Bell® programs. Ms. Sheridan is also a member of the not-for-profit Reading Disability and Dyslexia Awareness Group. Lisa Parris, B.A., Education, has been a teacher in the Hillsborough County public schools and is a highly trained reading therapist. She has received extensive training in the Lindamood-Bell® programs. Sara Farinas, M.A., Reading Education, has been a teacher in the Hillsborough County public schools and is a highly trained reading therapist. She has also received extensive training in the Lindamood-Bell programs. Whitney Kaufman, B.A., Education, has been a teacher in the Hillsborough County public schools. She is an expert writing instructor, having received training through the Writing Project at the Teacher's College at Columbia University, New York. Brandon Reading Clinic has provided excellence in professional evaluation and treatment of academics in the Brandon, FL and surrounding communities for over 20 years. We specialize in treating children with learning disabilities, dyslexia, reading disorders, ADHD, and comprehension problems. We also provide assistance with spelling, writing, elementary math, and study skills. Our strategy is to identify the specific needs of each child and to design a program that best suits that child's needs. The program includes: - Therapy delivered in a 1 to 1 therapist/student ratio only - no groups!

Brandon Reading Clinic and its predecessor companies have been serving the Brandon, FL and surrounding communities since 1988. Our clinic is located in the heart of Brandon, On Lumsden just west of Brian Road. Most of our services are provided at the clinic, however, we are somtimes able to deliver services at your child's school, or at another convenient location. If you live anywhere in the greater Tampa area, including Plant City, Lakeland, Temple Terrace, Valrico or other surrounding towns, please contact us about the availability of locations that are convenient to you. |
